These pieces are stories about a fictional woman, Aemilia Maximia, and her everyday life as an upper-class married woman. You will also read about her husband, Valerius Claudius Aurelius; her two daughters, Claudia Major and Claudia Minor; and her son, Marcus Claudius Aurelius.
